ADHD Plus is here to support your journey, whatever pathway you are on, and wherever your starting point is.

You are here because you want to learn more about ADHD and how to support the individual in your life with ADHD. You may be a parent, a carer or a professional.

Much of the information readily available about ADHD is from a professionally-based or clinical perspective, rather than an individual or personal perspective. ADHD Plus courses have been developed with the reality of living with ADHD in mind.

ADHD Plus is all about giving you the tools you need to make a positive difference in someone else's life.

Welcome.

Hi, I’m Helen, your course tutor.

I’m a 51 year old mum of two boys aged 15 and 13 and have two adult stepdaughters and a husband who – we believe now– has ADHD too – but says he’s too long in the tooth (and stubborn) to bother with a diagnosis now!

I’ve also worked in community and heritage education for over 20 years.

What right do I have to be here talking to you?

Because I care, and I want to make a difference to the person in your life with ADHD and to yours.

Why? I have a teenage (that’s scary) son with ADHD and Asperger’s and Sensory Processing difficulties. My son was diagnosed at age 7. I’d always known he was different but no one would listen and everything was always a battle for him and a challenge for me. There was very little help available and I was struggling - alone - on a daily basis. I would like to share with you key things that I have learnt since he was born (and believe me I wish I'd been able to talk to someone) and help you on your journey and let you know you're not alone. You've got this.
